Digital Scrapbooking

Another of my hobbies that I enjoy is digital scrapbooking. I have a huge number of pictures that I need to do something better with than store them in tubs where they are not ageing very gracefully!

The software I use is Paint Shop Pro and it's been rather hard to learn. Many parts of it are so difficult for me to understand that I haven't even touched them. But I've limped along for a few years and occasionally manage to spit out a page I think is not so bad.

For the past two weeks or so I have been doing some intense sorting of thousands of the little graphics which go into this hobby. I have found myself spending more time (and money) on these than actually using them. After looking at them lately and thinking how marvelous are these little pieces of artwork that have been created by others, that I decided to actually put together a page!

This is for Naomi when she was about 18 months old. I decided it needed two pages to do the "story" justice. The journaling is below the picture in case it's hard to read on your computer.

"After falling a few times, you decided that playing in the snow was not very much fun!"

" Always your hero, your big brother Jeff steps in to take your hand and guide you to safer ground"

Naomi's little "thought bubble" says: I love my brother. He's always been a sucker for a pretty face!

  1. Play with your hair, Mommy.

Okay really that is so funny. I have a nudie picture of Ceara. Do you want to see what you can do with that one?

(When you do something embarrassing, it's best to deflect the attention onto another!)

  2. You already are so far ahead of me in digital scrapbooking - I can't imagine what you could do if you knew more!

I love the scrap book pages you do of my kids. They are awesome!

  4. Keep up the good work - this takes a lot of imagination. However, isn't it fun to go back and get even with our children by doing embarrassing things to them all in the name of our "hobby"!!! These are great as the ones you do for me to put on my desktop

  5. Barb...you are amazing! I've enjoyed your family photos and other stuff as well. This is not timely, but I'll keep up as I can! Pat

  6. OH, Barb! I don't visit your blog site often enough. I took the day off today, worked out side, gathering the "hiding leaves" and cleaning out the flower bed, stacked some wood, finished mowing, played with the dog a bit, sat outside and read my Bible for awhile and thought I was having a wonderful day, which I am. But it only got better when I checked out your stuff! The Grand Canyon video was very relaxing. You have always had a calming affect on my....even when I don't see you for way too long! Deb
